I had breast augmentation 8 months ago and I'm considering going bigger. I chose a 295cc moderate profile silicone implant. My doctor indicated that I had 2 implant sizes to choose from due to my breast pocket footprint that was created during my surgery. A 345cc high profile and a 415 extra high profile were my choices. I feel that these sizes are limiting. One doesn't seem big enough and one seems too big. Is it true that I am limited to these 2 sizes? Do I have other options?
Answer: Breasts implants size Dear InstaGurl, Front and side views of your before and after pictures would have been helpful. Breasts implants size selection depends on your desire, your chest and breasts circumference measurements in inches and your anatomy. Since we do not have your pictures and you did not provide the needed information, it is difficult to recommend the appropriate implants size for you. However, you definitely have more option than the 2 you mentioned and especially if you get saline implants (my preferred) , you have much more flexibility for adjustment on the operating room table. If your surgeon is not more forthcoming to accommodate your wishes, consider consulting with other experienced board certified plastic surgeons. Most importantly, check their before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Implant Sizes Recommended So, just like you have a shoe size that fits your foot optimally, there are certain implant sizes that will optimally fill out your chest wall. Your surgeon likely took those measurements, and based upon that number, can vary the volume plus or minus by a few millimeters in width AND by varying the projection. Projection refers to the distance the implant will add going forward off of your chest wall. A lower profile implant projects less than a low plus, followed by a moderate, full and extra full. [Of course, to confuse things, the implant companies do not have the same nomenclature to describe the various profiles!]If your surgeon thought that your ideal implant width for a moderate profile was 295, it makes sense that the same number could be extrapolated to the high and extra high profiles. Because the next size up or down is usually only a few millimeters different, there probably is some wiggle room. So, no, you are probably not limited to those exact sizes, but probably that general ball park. Best of luck!

Answer: Implants The sizing of the implant is totally dependent on you chest wall diameter or footprint. those may be your only options however this is best done with measurements and an examination. I would wait one year before any size change or revision surgery

Answer: Breast Revision There are more choices than 2 implants, though your surgeon may feel that those are the best 2. Use 3D imaging based on your preop photos to try out implants sizes. And if you feel unsatisfied, seek another consultation. Best wishes.

Answer: Breast implants choices Dear InstaGurl,In today's plastic surgery world, choices for breast implant sizes and shapes are numerous. If you feel limited in your choices, you might ask your surgeon if there are other volumes available from other manufacturers. Even if your surgeon is an exclusive user of one breast implant manufacturer or another, he/she may be able to make an exception for your situation. The other breast implant companies will welcome the business. Good luck!
