I’m only 12 days from xl breast surgery. Getting saline overfilled implants with internal bra. How long will recovery take?

How long will recovery take. When I had my 750cc put in 10 years ago I had no problems and was up and going in a few days. Never had a internal bra. Little concerned about It. Going to get overfilled saline implants this time 1400-1800 range.

Dear mhatt12345,the majority of breast augmentation patients need one week of downtime. Depending on the work environment (heavy lifting, etc) more time off may be necessary. Patients are encouraged to walk immediately after surgery to avoid blood clots in the legs. I suggest that you follow your plastic surgeon’s post-operative instructions, especially on the level of activity that you can do and your scheduled follow up checkups, for faster and recovery.Daniel Barrett, MD

As with any operation, recovery after "extra-large" breast augmentation surgery varies from one patient to another. Having said that, most patients do quite well and are off pain medication  somewhere between day 4 and day 7 after the procedure is performed.  Every plastic surgeon will have a different "protocol" when it comes to returning to activity and exercise. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure.
