Would love a smaller, softer looking nose & more rounded nostrils, would I get a good result from rhinoplasty?

Hello, I’m 33 and have been thinking about rhinoplasty for around 15 years now so have decided to finally take the plunge this year. The things I dont like about my nose are: The over projection The sharpness The size of the tip Deviated septum Long nostrils I would love a smaller, softer looking nose with more rounded nostrils. Would this be possible? (I’ve added an inspo photo for reference) Thanks so much in advanced!

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you are a great candidate for a rhinoplasty. Steps could include nasal tip deprojection, tip stabilization, tip refinement, improvement in nostril symmetry, and other maneuvers. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Rhinoplasty surgery can straighten a deviated septum, refine the tip and improve the overall projection and rotation of the nose. Although the nostrils can also be altered, the overall shape is difficult to predict. From the photos you have provided the two nostrils are asymmetrical. This is normal. There is no guarantee that the nostrils can be altered to your desired shape. It is, however, almost certainly guaranteed that nostril asymmetry present before surgery will be present afterwards.
It is worth seeing a plastic surgery to discuss your concerns and expectations in detail.

To achieve a nasal profile closer to the “wish” picture that you submitted, you would require lowering of your dorsum, deprojecting your nose, correcting your septal deviation and shaping of your nasal tip cartilages to refine your nasal tip. These maneuvers are standard rhinoplasty maneuvers and should easily be accomplished. Have a detailed consultation with a plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

Definitely a good candidate. Your nose needs to be made smaller and closer to your face. The lower edge of the septum is sticking out one of the nostrils and can be shortened. I would do this as a closed rhinoplasty but it can be done open as well

Hi, I'm ENT specialist from Istanbul, you are a good candidate for the surgery. yes you have deviated septum and it may affect your breathing too. Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty  and septoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an examination and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique.

Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.

Digital computer imaging of your nose upon your facial features would be helpful to understand what can and cannot be accomplished with your nose. In addition to a closed rhinoplasty, you may also need a septoplasty for breathing since your caudal septum is deviated from the base of the nostril view creating nostril asymmetry. You also have a very nice looking nose now, so the improvements will be minimal, and it's important to have realistic expectations
