Can lasers help improve tear troughs and indents under my eyes? If so, which lasers?

I am 22 years old and have bad indents under my eyes (not bags). From doing a little reading on this site, I am aware that fillers are recommended most often for treating tear troughs. However, I would feel more comfortable with a laser treatment since I have had positive experiences with lasers in the past. Are there any lasers available to reduce the indents under my eyes?

The tear trough is created by a soft tissue deficit in the undereye area. This is most often treated with injected fillers to add volume. In most cases, a laser (which tightens the skin surface) will not address the actual problem causing the tear trough.

The answer is yes, maybe.  Skin tightening for certain individuals can improve the appearance of the under eye hollow or tear trough.  However over all, fillers are the treatment of choice and not lasers.

If you have increased pigmentation here, there are lasers that might help to lighten the skin so that the tear trough does not appear as deep.  But the lasers that stimulate collagen production are not going to create enough filling to make a significant difference.  You would need a filler.

Unfortunately, laser treatments will not help with improving tear troughs.  Lasers will not add volume, which is what is needed to make tear troughs better.

Filler or fat injections, implants and surgery are options for treating tear trough deformities. Since they all have pros and cons, you should carefully choose the best option for you. I don't consider laser treatment as a viable option for this problem.
