I'm 1 month post op after a revision to go bigger. I just went for a follow up with a nurse and she said my breast are a little too close, that i might have uniboobs... I think my breasts look good with nice cleaveage, what do you think? and what should i do to avoid them getting closer?
Answer: Symmastia Dear seophie130709,based on your photo, there is some space between your breasts so you don't have symmastia. One month after BA you are still in the early stage of recovery. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Answer: Uniboob (symmastia) after breast augmentation Symmastia after plastic surgery can occur especially if the implant is too wide for the breast, or if the surgeon is overly aggressive in detaching the muscles off of the central chest bone. Both of those issues are "surgeon error" in my opinion, but I have to qualify my statement by saying in my opinion almost all surgeons use implants that are too wide for the patient's breast. It is simply a difference of opinion and how the measurements are performed. It is not possible to tell from the photo alone whether you have symmastia. I can tell from the photo that in my opinion your breast implants are way too wide for your breasts -- remember I just respectfully disagree with other surgeons and how they measure or plan for their operations. Other issues that can be creating that "appearance" include the volume and shape of your overlying native breast tissue. You need to be evaluated by your surgeon (not the nurse -- although the nurse probably is pretty qualified because they see post-op patients all the time). You need to be asking your surgeon these questions so they can examine you to determine what is really going on.

Answer: Uniboobs suggest the skin between the mounds is elevated and that you do not have defined space between the mounds. Its hard to tell on your photo so in the end, it comes down to what you like as far as your appearances go. If you do have skin elevation between the mounds, would use some kind of cross your heart bra/spacer to help push down on that so your capsules can form without the uniboob appearance.

Answer: Uniboob? Hi, Congrat's on your breast augmentation. That was kind of a strange thing for a nurse to say to a patient. I do not think you have a uniboob. The look of your breasts will continue to change for 6 months or more.I think they look consistant with 1 month post-op after a breast augmentation. I wouldn't worry too much about the comment you received. Best wishes!
