What specific procedure would I need to get rid of cleft lip scar? (Photo)

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Based on
your photographs, you will benefit from a surgical scar revision which will entail opening your prior cleft repair, excising scar tissue, and multi-layered closure.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

Thank you for your pictures and questions. I do not think you should see a "scarring expert." I think that you would be best served by seeking consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs cleft lip and palate repairs. This type of surgeon is best suited to discuss with you options for revision. These specialists are usually found at academic medical centers that have pediatric hospitals associated with them that offer a craniofacial program. Hope this helps!

This scar can be improved with a combination of surgery and/or lasers and microneedling/prp. Cost will vary. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer
