Last time i had genesis laser about a year ago, the results were great. Better skin texture, minimized pores and more even skin tone. A few days ago, i had laser genesis with a different person. She went really high on the intensity. My skin was extremely red, was painful in some areas and after work my skin still breaking out with small pimples. Almost seems i had a bad sunburn. It is been 3 weeks after and my skin stills irritated.
Answer: Acne breakouts and chemical peels Some lasers can induce breakouts in the skin. The non ablative lasers can often be combined with chemical peels to help reduce breakouts and skin reaction. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Answer: Acne breakout with Laser Genesis Laser Genesis is one of my favorite lasers. For one thing the treatment is painless and there is no down-time after the procedure. You get glowing cheeks after you leave the office , and the improvements you mentioned are noticeable sometimes after one treatment. The results also persists and get better with multiple treatments. While we perform thousands of laser genesis treatments at my clinic, I have only seen the reaction you speak of once. A quick literature search showed that it is a very rare reaction and can occur with all lasers. The treatment is conservative including gentle washing of the face with a mild soap and cleaning of the pores and avoiding a thick makeup. In all reported cases the mini acnes resolve spontaneously over a week or two. I don't think that having experienced it once means that you will always get this happen with Laser Genesis. I recommend having it done by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist's office where you're under the care of a physician and use a much lower setting next time. Good luck. Answer: Breakouts after laser genesis Some people can experience breakouts after laser treatments. This usually means the treatment settings were too high, particularly with Laser Genesis. This treatment should not hurt. It should feel like warm water. Afterwards you may have a light flushing like you went the gym. But you should not experience pain or extreme redness. Since the breakouts are not common for you, you could try an OTC acne medication/wash. But if it persists, you may need to see a dermatologist for something stronger.
