How much would it cost to receive liposuction on my back? I've had back rolls since I was extremely young. They are much more prevalent as I've aged and gained weight. I want to achieve a smoother back.

Upper back liposuction can be successful if there is significant fat in that area, and the surgeon suctions aggressively.  This is not an easy area to suction. This may cost $2000 or so but will depend upon the extent of the areas liposuctioned and the demand for the surgeon.  You mention that you have gained weight as you have aged; recommend that you be within 10 pounds of your weight goal to obtain optimal results from the liposuction.  A virtual or in-office consultation would be preferred to give you a more accurate estimate.Liposuction results are highly surgeon dependent.  Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of liposuction procedures each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results you are seeking.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

You will be so glad you got lipo to get that fat gone. I would do the axillae(armpits), mid back, and hips in 1 procedure under tumescent local at a cost of $7,000 for quality work. It would be easy to undergo and so worth it.

Thank you for your question and photo. Backs are difficult areas to suction and you need to see a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques. Based on your phot, it is not enough to just liposuction the back only. You do have significant fat on your waist line, lower back and hips. Not addressing those areas, will leave you with less than desirable results. I use the VASER liposuction technique, combined with the Power X rotating cannula for best results. Although costs are important, this is based on the surgeon's skills, geographic area and technique used. This can be expensive procedure if you chose the lowest bidder, since secondary corrective liposuction is more difficult, expensive and might not achieve the results if the procedure would've been done by an expert first time. Cost will vary due to skills, expertise and technique. For best results with liposuction, it is recommended to be at or near your ideal/stable weight. You need to lose weight first before undergoing any cosmetic procedure to get the best outcome. I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction which can be combined with a body lifting procedure at the same time, if you're a candidate. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. Costs are going to vary by surgeon and location. Having said that, I always advise my patients to be at a maintainable goal weight before considering any form of cosmetic surgery.
