Can you take colace 2 days pre-op BA revision?

Question

Hello, I'm very constipated, about 4-5 days now. I have surgery on Monday (it's 6:30am Saturday here now) can I take colace, in hope that it will work before surgery? I will not see my surgeon until surgery day. I also have powdered magnesium if that's better (brand name is natural calm) Any help is appreciated Thank you

Thank you for your questions. Taking over the counter medications for constipation like colace should be just fine. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water as well. Hopefully you can resolve your problems prior to your procedure. Best of luck!

You should  call your surgeon to discuss but there should be no harm in visiting a local pharmacy and using an over the counter laxative.Dr. Edwards

Yes you can.  There are several over the counter options that can help you out.  It is better that you get that sorted out now.
