I definitely have festoons under my eyes

Question

I sought out a doctor on a whim and he is giving me direct Excision surgery tomorrow. I'm 47 and have no wrinkles on my face my only flaw are these horrible sagging bags full of Adema. This was after a night of staying up all night and partying with my friends and drinking. Any advice as the surgery is taking place tomorrow afternoon ? I added a picture of me a few weeks ago with rest and make up on. The doctor had been pinching under my eyes and drawing with a marker and rubbing it with alcohol

Dear Lotus,You do appear to have lower eyelid festoons. This can make a person appear tired, old, and sometimes drunk. They have a genesis in sun damage in this sensitive part of the face. I've found using lasers to tighten the skin is effective in helping improve this condition.I hope you found this helpful.

Lasers, microneedling/prp and/or fillers can sometimes give improvement for festoons. Otherwise surgery is the best alternative, but there really is no cure for this.  It is often genetic and requires a combination of treatments over time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Good luck on your upcoming procedure.  Festoons can be improved with CO2 lasers.  Surgery is another option.  Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for your procedure.
