Pointy tip, crooked bridge, excessive projection - Should I get a revision? (photos)

Question

I will be at one year post op in May. My satisfaction level is okay, I’m not in love but also don’t hate it. My nose is extremely projected and too pointy for my face. I’m surely in need of a revision.

Based on your photos, without a proper exam, it is impossible to tell with certainty wether you have over-projection or over-rotation (or both) of your tip. A revision rhinoplasty, however, would address this - when performed by a board certified and experienced plastic surgeon.

Hi, thank you for this question!
You can get a revision to reduce the projection of your nose and shorten the tip. This will help your nose look less pointy. Deviation can also be corrected with a revision surgery. 
But the important point to consider is that in ethnic rhinoplasty procedures, scar tissue and skin tightness may be strong enough to prevent us from sculpting a 100% straight nose. I recommend an in-person consultation to comment further on your case. I hope this helps.

Hi, thank you for your question and photos. All the issues you mentioned – pointy nose tip, over-projected nose, and a crooked bridge – can be corrected with revision rhinoplasty. However, you will still need a proper evaluation since you may also have over-rotation of the nasal tip.
 
Revision rhinoplasty is a more complex surgery than primary rhinoplasty. Especially with ethnic rhinoplasty, thickness of the skin will affect surgical techniques and results. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon with expertise in African American rhinoplasty. They will be able to evaluate your nose and customize the best procedure plan to achieve the best possible outcome.

Based on your photos, your projected tip is leading to nasal narrowing on front view. So having a procedure to deproject your tip could lead to a wider nasal appearance. Please consider re-asking your question with before and after photos. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
