If it is an HA filler you can reverse this with hyaluronidase, if its not then you need a formal evaluation to see what it could be if there is a surgical option. Best, Dr. Emer.
Depending on what fillers you received, they may be removed quite easily. Fillers such as Juvederm, Voluma, Volbella, Restylane, and Perlane can be reversed. These fillers are composed of Hyaluronic Acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in your body. An enzyme called Hyaluronidase, which your body also produces, is used to remove these fillers. A small amount of Hyaluronidase is injected to the treated areas, and within a couple hours, the filler can be reversed.
Thanks for your question. What you are having under your eyes, is what we call TYNDAL effect and swelling related to injection that was done not in good structural anatomical space. It is easy to reverse it if it is a HA fillers, we have to inject hyaluronidase. If its another fillers ( fat transfert ou radiesse or other) we need to evaluate a potential surgical intervention. Wish you all the bestDr Stephanie Olivier MD, FRCSC
It is very unfortunate that have experienced this. If this is a hyaluronic acid filler, it can easily be dissolved with hyaluronidase, which is an enzyme that is injected in the areas with filler. If it's not a HA filler, you would need to explore possible surgical options. First step is to return to the doctor who injected the product. In the future, make sure you see an expert in facial aesthetics such as a board-certified dermatologist.
Hyaluronic acid based fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, etc can be reversed using an enzyme called hyaluronidase which is injected into the area of filler treatment and breaks down the filler. Multiple sessions may be required. Non-hyaluronic acid based fillers cannot be easily reversed. Please followup with an experienced injector to determine what is the best way to proceed.
Thank you for your question and picture. I can see the area that you are concerned about. Would need to know about when you were injected - if it was in the last few days this may be swelling/bruising that may improve with ice or warm compresses, depending on how long it was been since the injection. Also, it is possible that the filler can still be molded and pushed. Then, it can depend on the type of injectable. Some can be dissolved with an injection, whereas others cannot. I recommend that you go back to see the Dr. who injected you, or get information about what was used for injection and then visit a reputable Plastic surgeon or Dermatologist in your area. Hope that helps!
For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest...
Thank you for your question. A lot of what is going on depends on the type of filler you had and its placement. If you are concerned, I would recommend returning to your provider for evaluation to ensure everything is OK. Hopefully the provider used a hyaluronic acid type filler so if there is ...
Typically this does not happen 11 days out. If it is happening on just 1 side, you will have to rule out infection. Infections normally are red, swollen, tender, and warm and are accompanied by fever but they don't have to be. You will need immediate medical evaluation to rule...
