Can Dysport help with the tiny fine lines right underneath the lower lashes? (photos)

Fine lines in the lower eyelid skin may be best treated by procedures such as laser skin resurfacing.It is a difficult area to treat successfully using botulinum toxins and I would not suggest using dysport in that area given the condition about which you're concerned

While Dysport is great for lines on the forehead, crow's feet and other areas, this area is a tricky one.  It sometimes is a good result but occasionally can cause looseness that is unappealing.  I would go to an expert for this treatment as it requires skill and judgment for the analysis as to whether it is a good idea to do it or not.  Good luck!

There are times when the fine lines directly under the eyelid can be helped with Dysport injection in the area.  If the line is forming from a hyperactive or enlarging muscle in the area then Dysport maybe helpful.  This area is sensitive and I would recommend a very low dose of Dysport (I would start with 3 units per side).Good moisturing skin care will be important to maintian healthy skin in this area. I hope this helps.

As a dual board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon I have been using neuromodulators for almost 20 years. This includes using Dysport and Botox in the preseptal and pretarsal obicularis muscle around the lower eyelid without any problems. It certainly does require a board certified surgeon who is very experiened in facial and eyelid anatomy. This is not routinely done by inexperienced injectors, though.

The short answer is yes – someone extremely skilled in the use of Dysport can do it – but the reality answer is that this would not be the first choice by most board certified dermatologists or plastic surgeons in this day and age.My first recommendation is to start with a great eye cream – Neocutis Lumiere is great here. In addition, you can do non-ablative fractional resurfacing, ablative fractional resurfacing, or sublative RF fractional resurfacing in this area with very good results. In addition, RF skin tightening, like the Venus Legacy, the EndyMed 3Deep, or the Ellman Pelleve, can work very well here in tightening the skin, which may make the fine lines in the area disappear.

Injecting a neuromodulator toxin under the eyes can have serious complications including paralysis of your eye muscles resulting in double vision. For someone with minor fine lines under the eyes I recommend to start on a skin regimen that includes an eye cream that helps tightening the skin and will soften the appearance of fine lines. Once the lines become more prominent, more invasive procedures can be considered such as a formal lower blepharoplasty. Good luck and do not let anyone inject a neuromodulator toxin under your eyes!

The short answer is yes, this is possible. However, your injector needs to be very careful since over treatment of this area can cause either a droop in the eyelid or creation/ worsening of an undereye bag. A conservative injection with a low dose of neuromodulator would minimize this risk. I would typically use Botox as it spreads much less than Dysport. I would caution you against injecting in this area. You can look on RealSelf for a number of issues that people have with injections here - dry eyes, eye bags, puffiness, etc. It's just not a good idea to inject a neuromodulator into an area like this because it's not actually the muscle there that's creating the issue - it's usually very much based on aging and sun. Your best best would be a resurfacing laser treatment. In my office I use InMode Fractora here with great results, and no issues with skin discoloration or ridging.
