Had rhinoplasty recently. I am a little over 6 weeks out. My nostrils are completely asymmetrical, it is noticeabl in pictures and I am not happy. I consulted with the original surgeon who performed the surgery and he was completely dismissive about it. I was so disappointed bc I could tell he was rushed and busy and not interested in trying to admit it didn't look great. My question: is there anything I could do to correct the unevenness or should I wait until at least 12 months have passed?

Answer: Post rhinoplasty Hai Seen your pic 6 weeks post rhinoplasty some amount of tip swelling is noted not to worry as it is very premature to decide as the swelling will take atleast few weeks to reduce and for the results to be apparent will take 6 months to visualize .In the meantime you can consult your surgeon regarding steroid injections and tip massages, prior to redo procedure.

Answer: Asymmetric nostrils--what to do now? Hi ccox4270-Sorry to hear about your nostril asymmetry. Two issues right now: 1) it is still early, and things may change. 2) A thorough analysis of the cause, including looking at preoperative base view photos, comparing to now, and looking at your operative notes, will determine if this needs a full year prior to revision. If you cannot connect with your surgeon, do try to find an accomplished revision specialist who can help determine what can be done for you.I hope this helps, and wish you the best.Dr. Most
