hi, im going to an ent next week to see about rhinoplasty. my local GP said that this ent is very good at rhinoplasty and that he does alot. is it a good idea to go to an ent for rhinoplasty or to go to a plastic surgeon? i also need airway surgery so would the ent be better? i just need people's opinions, thanks.
Answer: #rhinoplasty Hi. There are multiple surgical specialties that claim to do cosmetic rhinoplasty. In australia any surgeon or for that matter cosmetic GP could legally do a rhinoplasty. There are ENT surgeons doing breast augmentations. The reality is that you need to do your research and make sure they are fully qualified, have an interest in rhinoplasty and have good results. Regards Damien

Answer: ENT or Plastic for rhinoplasty Hi there,Both specialties do rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is a very exacting procedure, so it's important to select a plastic or ENT surgeon with a major practice interest in rhinoplasty, and plenty of experience.Sydney has some excellent ENT rhinoplasty surgeons, and some excellent plastic rhinoplasty surgeons - check your surgeons rhinoplasty credentials, and you'll make the right choice. All the best.Howard Webster

Answer: A Nose Specialist Dear Sammy,A specialist in nose surgery can improve nasal airway breathing while improving the shape of the nose. Plastic surgeons and Otolaryngologists have such training. The most important factors in your future success are directly related to your surgeon's training, their board certification, surgical specialization and observed outcomes. Be healthy and be well, James M. Ridgway, MD, FACS

Answer: ENT doing rhinoplasty? Really? This question is rare nowadays--most experienced rhinoplasty surgeons know that the background in otolaryngology ("ENT") is actually very beneficial for performing rhinoplasty. The pathway through plastic surgery and otolarygology is not as important as the experience and skill of the surgeon. Ask about the number of years of experience, how many they do, and look at some results. You may want to speak to a few recent patients. This will be a better guide for you.I hope this helps,Best,Dr. Most

Answer: ENT or Plastic Surgeon for rhinoplasty? Hi thereRhinoplasty these days is almost a specialty in itself, so see someone who really makes rhinoplasty an important part of their practice. Training and experience are vital as it is a very demanding procedure. A nose needs to look good, function well, if anything improve with time, and be appropriate for a person's face.ENT or Plastic surgeons both do rhinoplasty well. But not all have it as a main interest. Choose on this basis.I hope this helps.
