Hair Loss and Itching.Taking Finasreride 1mg for more than two months. Now taking a multivitamin softgel oral. Transplant?

I am suffering from hair loss and itching. I m on finasteride for more than two months. Now i am taking Hair Aid (Multi Vitamins Soft Gel Oral) and Finasteride. What would you suggest? Transplant or something else?

In  my opinion, you should see a hair loss expert. They need to determine the etiology of your itching. It can be caused by the finasteride or a inflammation of the scalp. The latter can lead to further hair loss. A transplant will not help your condition.Jeff Rapaport MD FAADRealself All-star

It’s not clear from your question if you had itching before using finasteride or after using finasteride. Some people do get itching from finasteride although that’s not common. There are 25 causes of scalp itching so be sure to have an experienced physician examine your scalp properly. It takes about 1 year to really figure out if finasteride is going to help you or not. You are only at month 2 and so have 10 more months to go. Provided you are tolerating it well and not getting side effects, this may be the best option. Be sure to review fully with an experienced hair physician.

Hello and thank you for the great question. I suggest you see a hair loss professional or at a minimum your personal physician. Perhaps you’re having a reaction to the finasteride. From looking at your picture it doesn’t look like a transplant is necessary, your have a good amount of hair. Good luck to you.

You have a lot of hair and I would not rush to get a hair transplant as I don't see the benefits of a hair transplant. The drug finasteride should be adequate
