After a hair transplant there are a specific set of instructions that we give our patients to help ensure that the new grafts get off to a healthy start. One of these steps include keeping the grafts moist for the first few days after the surgery. We have our patients spray the recipient sites every one to two hours during the day. I don't feel that a steam room/sauna will be beneficial to your newly placed grafts as the heat will not be good for them and actually slow down the healing process. After two weeks you can do any activity you want, including using a sauna.
After your hair transplant operation you should stay away from the activities that will make you sweat for one month.

although there are some things you can do to help transplanted hair, steam room and sauna do not have any effect on hair growth.
A steam room will not help your hair transplants to grow nor will it probably hurt them provided it is not done in the first week after the hair transplant

First, make a follow up visit with your surgeon. I do not feel that there is much to be worried about, since it is typical to have hair shedding and not uncommon to have some dry skin following the procedure. I would refrain from pressure on the recipient area and continue to lightly...
