It’s been three months. I can’t tell if the ridge on my upper lip is because my filler has migrated or because of my natural lip shape there was always a ridge and now it more prominent because of the filler. I included a before and after(now)
Answer: Filler migration Hi @Cute7827! It does appear that you have filler migration to the upper vermilion border. This can be dissolved with Hylenex. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Unhappy with filler results: Here's what you need to know Hello, and thank you for your question. When a plastic surgeon uses a proper filler and a proper injection technique, the filler should not migrate under any conditions. For your case, it may be more of a poor cosmetic outcome rather than true dermal filler migration. This is why I highly recommend only seeking treatments from a reputable, experienced injector. Such experts can select the most appropriate product for your needs, select the right dilution of that product, determine the right dosage to inject, and know the ideal placement of injections for a natural-looking appearance. They will also be able to recognize and deal with complications that might arise. During your consultation, you should express your concerns and goals, and your provider can assess your facial profile, determine the best approach, and ensure the best possible outcome.

Answer: Lip filler issues I don’t personally believe fillers migrate. I think it is a concept that’s used as an excuse for poor performance during the injection. I personally have never seen fillers migrate. I have seen patients who seem to have filler volume that lasts disproportionately longer than what is typical including semi permanent volume after having fillers multiple times. I don’t have an explanation why some patients seem to retain volume for long pairs of time after the use of fillers but it seems to be the case for some individuals. I’ve even seen cases where filler has been reversed and somatically but the volume remains. Follow up with your provider and discuss. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Lip filler Hello, and thanks for your question. I do see somewhat of a ridge in your "before" picture, however, the filler should not have done that. I believe it probably migrated somewhat. I would go back to your physician (or see a new one), and express your concern. They can either dissolve the filler or you just may have to wait it out until the filler dissolves. I would wait until it dissolves on its own because you never know what your lips will look like after the filler is purposefully dissolved and it will cost you extra because you may also need more filler to replace what was dissolved, etc. Make sure you are going to an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon. Please see my attached link on fillers. Best of luck to you!
