When to top up lip filler to maintain original results after my last treatment?

Had 0.8 HA lip filler in Jan and added 0.7 at end of February of this year. When should I have a top up appointment to maintain the size and shape / results of the lip filler? I know there can be a range but in general when should I plan to go back for a top up if my goals is to maintain the previous treatment results specifically and not revert back to previous lip size / shape etc?

 I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times.For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years.
In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural.

For most AJ Fillers a six month interval is appropriate.

Longer lasting Fillers like Voluma can get you more time. The reduction in volume is directly proportional with time.

When providers say filler last six months it typically implies that at six month all the product is gone.

Each person can decide on their own what is an appropriate time interval for maintaining volume since it is constantly being lost after the treatment.

To maintain the most consistent look requires more frequent treatments with less volume each time.
