Hello and thank you for your question. Rippling can happen with any implant, but is more commonly associated with saline implants or with patients who have thin skin and/or little fat and/or breast tissue to cover and conceal the implant. Switching to a silicone implant, potentially one with a more cohesive (or firm) gel, can help prevent this problem for recurring. Thank you and best of luck.
One of the causes of rippling is large implants that stretch the tissue envelope. Going larger is more likely to make it worse rather than better. A cohesive gel implant and/or internal bra is a better option.
Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. One option to consider is fat transfers to help mask the rippling. However, implants as large as 650 cc, are quite heavy and will result in future problems. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Dear angie3030,breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
If you get a revision, you probably need to go smaller and go with gel implants. The 650 cc size implant is too large for most women of average height and built.
Hello and thanks for your question. It is totally depends on your expectation and your case. Depending on your expectation breast implant renewal with big implants can be performed on the other hand if you want to go smaller breast, the procedure can be combined with breast uplift. Please kindly note that I have provided the treatment plan according to your information. The actual treatment plan can change after seeing your pictures and plastic surgery consultation.
You probably need a lift to lift up the sagging breast tissue. If you consider going smaller, you will need a lift.
Hello and thanks for your question. You can change you can downsize your implants by 150 cc. Having smaller implants might give you a slight sagging breast tissue. It can be clear after the in-person consultation and measurements.
No, you didn't really get a lift, you got a circumareolar lift, which was totally inappropriate for your needs then and now. It is not a surprise that you went with a doc on this website. Being on this RealSelf does NOT ensure a good doc. RealSelf markets itself as a place for patients, but it's...
