It takes 6-8 weeks for results with Kybella and most people need a series of treatments. The swelling will gradually resolve within that time. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options like Kybella. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is an alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Don't worry, this is completely normal. The swelling will go down after the first week. We always set the expectation of it will get worse before it gets better with Kybella, unfortunately. But it will get better! You shouldn't have an issue with the hanging skin either. I would recommend locating a medspa that uses the Exilis Ultra to pair with the Kybella. Exilis Ultra is a RF skin tightening device that can be used anywhere on the body, especially on the neck. Cold compress the treated Kybella area in the mean time to help with the swelling. Best of luck!- Dr. Haney
Yes, there is swelling after Kybella which will slowly resolve over the next several weeks. I hope this helps.
Unfortunately most people that were in the clinical study that lead to FDA approval of Kybella required 6 sessions of Kybella at one month intervals. A full 40% were disappointed with the results of the treatment. That is a lot of swelling and discomfort in my opinion. Keep in mind that neck liposuction reliably accomplishes the goal of improving the neck contour with a single minimally invasive procedure that is associated with far less pain and swelling you are experiencing with your Kybella service. Liposuction is also less expensive than the overall cost of getting Kybella.
Swelling is the expectation after Kybella. That is how you can be assured it is working to dissolve your fat especially with your initial treatment when you have more fat to dissolve. The swelling should improve in a couple of weeks.
What you are experiencing is very typical of Kybella. The postop swelling is the main problem with Kybella. But, over the next few weeks, the swelling subsides and the shape of your neck and chin will improve. Best of luck.
The swelling after Kybella treatment you are experiencing is normal. The worst swelling is seen the morning after treatment and it improves on its own over the first week. It can take 2 months to see the results of your treatment. As long as you have good skin quality, you should not expect to see much skin laxity after Kybella treatment.
swelling post Kybella treatment can vary. It’s not unusual to see swelling up to 6 weeks post treatment. Most cases resolve within 7 to 14 days.
Hi there,Some swelling and bruising after administering Kybella is definitely to be expected! It will subside with time. Cold compresses may help reduce the swelling but first check with your plastic surgeon regarding their protocol. It is difficult to say regarding the loose skin without seeing a picture but presumably your surgeon would not have injected you if you were not a good candidate! Hang in there.
Hello,Don't worry, that significant swelling will decease in a week or so, after you will have more tolerable level of swelling. Swelling equals fat dying, so be happy about the swelling. We have seen great results with Kybella and the worse the swelling, patient dependent, the better the outcomes.Thank you.
Hi Xociami, I wouldn't use Kybella for the mons pubis area for two reasons - there are better ways to achieve fat reduction in the area and the associated pain and swelling after the treatment. Kybella fat loss is not fast so the skin has a chance "shrink" back. However, some patients who have l...
"It takes a series of treatments to get good results with Kybella. Keep in mind, Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with n...
Thank you for your question! This can be typical and should resolve in the next several weeks as the nerve begins to regain its function. If you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your Doctor.
