In small discrete areas Kybella is a very reasonable option. This is a simple office procedure similar to a botox treatment. It requires several treatment sessions but the results are permanent.
Kybella is approved for fat reduction of the submental area and not approved for any other area. However Dr’s can treat fat with Kybella in other areas. Successful post kybella treatment can potentially cause skin sagging.
I don't recommend Kybella for this. For best results in mons pubis reduction, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Kybella is approved for use under the chin, so use in the mons pubis would be off label. That said, Kybella works by permanently dissolving fat cells and will "work" wherever it is injected. However, the side effects, which include swelling and numbness and which may least several months, may be undesirable in this location. Kybella typically does not cause sagging skin or a deflated look. In contrast to liposuction, there is less fat tissue destroyed, and the inflammatory response from Kybella causes some tissue tightening. If you're bothered by fat in this area, I'd encourage a consult with a physician experienced in both tumescent liposuction (safer and fewer complications than traditional liposuction) and Kybella. Both procedures are safe and effective when used properly.
Hi Xociami, I wouldn't use Kybella for the mons pubis area for two reasons - there are better ways to achieve fat reduction in the area and the associated pain and swelling after the treatment. Kybella fat loss is not fast so the skin has a chance "shrink" back. However, some patients who have lost a lot and do not have good skin tonicity can have 'saggy' skin after the procedure. All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
"It takes a series of treatments to get good results with Kybella. Keep in mind, Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with n...
Thank you for your question! This can be typical and should resolve in the next several weeks as the nerve begins to regain its function. If you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your Doctor.
Hi 11Michelle11, I'm sorry but Kybella will be too painful and unpredictable to try on the lips. It could end up dissolving even the natural fat or produce asymmetrical results. Please don't go to a provider who will agree to do this. All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
