Answer: Botox to Masseter Thank you for your question. It may be possible that you need additional Botox to further weaken the muscles. I recommend having a follow up with your injector for evaluation and treatment. Best of Luck!

Answer: Touch ups are often necessary the first few times Botox-ing the Masseter Having performed this procedure many times and had it performed on myself ( I love the results!), I will tell you with a large, strong muscle like the masseter, touch ups are usually necessary when your provider first starts treating you. Why? It is more efficient and cost effective for me to use a predetermined amount botox, placed in the muscle, document where it was placed and then observe the results. I can then customize an injection map just for you. When you return for follow-up after two weeks, additional botox can be placed, as needed, and documented. The resulting "treatment map" stays in your chart and can be exactly repeated when you are due for more. A "tidal wave" approach or placing large amounts of botox everywhere to try to avoid touch ups is wasteful, costly and above all, dangerous! As long as you continue with the same doctor, your customized treatment map will be your guide for safe, comfortable and effective botox treatment for your masseters. Good Luck! Dr. Ebner
