I have had a breast augmentation about 5 years ago my old cup size use to be a B (before surgery) and now I am at an H. I have heard of some people going back under to get them bigger but never smaller. Would that be considered a breast lift or just another breast augmentation?
Answer: Downsizing implants Yes, you can downsize implants. At size 32 or 34, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. At size 36 or 38, each 200 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. From this, you can compute the volume required to achieve your desired goal. However, reducing the implant size may result in hanging skin and may require a lift. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Implants Yes, you can have those mammoth implants exchanged for something smaller that fits your frame and tissue. The pockets can be tightened internally, but you may need a lift. You do not have to live with being an "H" cup. It would be an exchange of implants with a lift.

Answer: Breast implant downsizing After a breast augmentation, you may downsize your implant to a smaller size. You can remove the breast implants entirely. With breast implant removal or implant downsizing, a breast lift may be performed to address the laxity with repositioning the nipple.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear aymedang, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
