I have my binder that the hospital gave me a month ago after having full abdominal liposuction. It is losing it's velcro stay! I would like to order one more appropriate for wearing under clothing but don't know where to start. I tried Spanx, but it still isn't enough support for me to move about without swelling more or hurting. I love my Marena bra, but I don't know what to order for my tummy. I would love and appreciate your input.
Answer: Compression garments after liposuction Dear FutureDCAny compression garments for the abdomen should provide snug compression without being too constrictive. If the garment leave compression marks on the skin, it may be too tight and can lead to skin damage. The brand of garment is probably not as important. Choose one that is comfortable. Adjustable garments are a good idea as it allows for adjustments in the level of compression. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Answer: Compression garments after liposuction There are so many companies that make compression garments for post surgical procedures. It would be difficult to tell you which is the absolute best because they all are good. Caromed, Design Veronique, Marena, Medico, etc. are just a few that seem to do well with marketing their products. Whatever product ends up being comfortable and provides support and compression is the right answer. But for you, I would suggest that compression garments are not necessarily needed anymore. You are already 1 month removed from surgery. I used to have my patients wear compression garments for 6 weeks after surgery, but I have not found any evidence that it offers any long term benefit to do so. I personally think that after 2 weeks, the compression garment is offering comfort, but not much else.

Answer: We use a company called Veronique... They are great garments and hold up well, they're just pricey. I'm sure you can look them up online (I have no financial interest in their business, just a fan). You might check with your plastic surgeon to see if they have a preference.

Answer: Garment after liposuction This is one of those questions that does not have an absolute answer. Each surgeon approaches it differently. As a result, it is reasonable to assume that there is some wiggle room. Nonetheless, I think the best answer in individual cases like this will come from the plastic surgeon who performed your procedure. Give him or her a call and allow them the first opportunity to use their knowledge of you and your procedure to get you the best answer. I will say, and I hate to endorse the surgeon, but my patients have been fond of the Dr. Rey garments for the purposes you describe.Best,Dr. Pyle
