Visible ridges after tear trough filler - what should I do? (photos)

Question

After having restylene injected in my tear troughs I noticed I had quite a lumpy texture which I massaged and let settle over the weeks. I also noticed that my under eyes had an over filled look and there were visible ridges from some angles, especially in my right eye. Injector sees no problem and I hate the way it looks. I also have developed puffynes under my tear duct in my right eye too. I’m not sure what to do as my injector basically told me to get over it it’s not that bad

It appears as though you either are harboring additional fluid causing swelling associated from the filler injections in that area, or you may have preexisting fat pads that now appear bigger due to filler around them. Would consider having it dissolved with hyaluronidase to see if that will provide some improvement. Please always go to an experienced oculoplastic surgeon when it comes to your cosmetic treatments around your eyes.

Get a new expert injector!  The excess restylane should be dissolved with hyaluronidase.  Always choose your injecting physician carefully.  Good luck and be well.

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your filler treatment.  You may wish to have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and begin again with a different injector.  Be sure to always select an experienced injector for your treatment.  I've included a video that I hope you find helpful.

sadly, this is a common problem after tear trough filler. I have a comprehensive video on filler  problems on my YouTube channel Adam goodwin surgery.

This is probably demonstration of overfilling or the Tyndall effect. Either way, the skin in this area is very thin and filler hidden by very little soft tissue cover looks like this. The only options are to massage until it fades or have it dissolved.

It is for this reason that filler to the tear trough is a very difficult procedure to get right.

Hi there,
I am not sure how the filler was injected but if the filler isn't placed deep enough; on the orbital bone in some cases, it can affect the lymphatic drainage system.  I am assuming this is the case.  RF can help with that.  Follow up with your injector for an RF treatment.
