The connection between your skin and eyelid muscle (dermis and levator aponeurosis) can be strengthened surgically with a technique called supratarsal fixation, whereby sutures underneath the skin are used to re-establish this connection to create a deeper, more crisp crease with a more desirable height and shape. Excess skin can be removed, and fat can be removed or repositioned to create a more attractive upper eyelid appearance.
