I’m 33 years old and I really want to get a tummy tuck but my job is pretty physically demanding. I would like to know about how long it takes for the scar to heal and be ready to go back to work. Also I like the look of a v shaped incision better, do I have a say in the incision I get or does it depend on the shape of my belly or texture of my skin?
Answer: Time off after tummy tuck Obviously the amount of time you take off after a tummy tuck varies by your pain control and job demands. in general you don’t want to forcefully engage your core for at least 6 weeks and even then it will likely be sore to so. I hope that helps. your body often selects the incision location and type but you also get a say if you have preferences. there really aren’t plastic surgeons out where you live so I would be happy to see you over here in Spokane if you would like an expert opinion

Answer: Tummy Tuck Recovery Because a tummy tuck procedure is personalized, recovery time will differ from patient to patient. However, many people are able to resume everyday activities after 2-4 weeks, and should be able to stand up straight within a couple of days. Any tight or tugging sensations at the treatment site should be gone by 4-6 weeks, although an occasional twinge of pain may occur even after a few months.

Answer: How long do I need to take off work after a tummy tuck? Dear RSProfile1297546, Thank you for your question and photo. Recovery from a tummy tuck depends on the extent of your procedure, but it is a significant procedure that requires adequate rest and downtime. Most patients can expect an initial recovery period of 2 weeks, during which time you will need to avoid strenuous activity, vigorous exercise and heavy lifting. How long it will be before you’re able to return to work will depend on how physically demanding your job is, so it’s important to make sure you’ll have the downtime you need after your surgery. As for the incision, that will depend on your anatomy and the technique your surgeon uses to achieve your desired outcome. I recommend that you meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and concerns — they will be able to give you a better idea of what to expect after examining you in person! Good luck to you!

Answer: Recovery time after a tummy tuck Thank you for your question. I typically tell my patients they need about 10 days home around the house and no heavy lifting or working out for a total of 4 weeks. I also require them to wear a spanx or some form of a compression garment for a total of 4 weeks . In regards to the incision, I would suggest you speaking to your surgeon of choice and discuss your concerns. Best of luck to you.
