I’m 33 years old and I really want to get a tummy tuck but my job is pretty physically demanding. I would like to know about how long it takes for the scar to heal and be ready to go back to work. Also I like the look of a v shaped incision better, do I have a say in the incision I get or does it depend on the shape of my belly or texture of my skin?

Answer: Recovery time Thank you for your question! For my patients having a tummy tuck, I recommend they take 10-14 days off of work, 3 weeks off of cardio at the gym, and 6 weeks off of weight training and yoga exercises. Best of luck!

Answer: Recovery time after a tummy tuck Thank you for your question. I typically tell my patients they need about 10 days home around the house and no heavy lifting or working out for a total of 4 weeks. I also require them to wear a spanx or some form of a compression garment for a total of 4 weeks . In regards to the incision, I would suggest you speaking to your surgeon of choice and discuss your concerns. Best of luck to you.
