Unfortunately, your question can't be answered over the internet. How do you know it is 1-2 mm deviated? Are you having trouble breathing? The vast majority of people have some degree of minor septal deviation and in these cases, most do not have any associated symptoms (difficulty breathing through nose), or at least enough not to warrant surgery. Ultimately, it comes down to your own symptoms and if your septal deviation is significant enough to cause nasal obstruction. If not, then surgery is not indicated. Additionally, there can be other reasons to have nasal obstruction including seasonal allergies and chronic sinusitis. I would recommend having a formal consultation with an otolaryngologist or facial plastic surgeon to examine your nose and discuss options.
Everyone has a minor deviation of their septum from 1-2 mm. To document medical necessity, there has to be significant symptoms of nasal obstruction to warrant undergoing a surgical procedure to improve air flow through the nose. For more information, please see link below
