I had liposuction to my hips, to transfer fat in breasts. This resulted in uneven hip dips. Now my hips are not curvy anymore, but rather wavy and I absolutely hate them My doctor said it could easily be revised by draining more fat from the upper and lower hip to even things out, but should I trust him after this catastrophe? Is there any other way to correct this? I don't want to transfer new fat to fill the dent, because I was hoping I could save it to fill my breasts again
Answer: Dents Excess fat can be removed above and below the dents. If you have no excess fat, then fat can be added to fill in the dents. You do not appear to have enough donor fat for breasts.

Answer: Solution Way Hello; it was better than nothing; but, you do not need to worry about too much. Removing fat from the hip and waist fields; by implementing on fat, to the hip bottom area; the problem can be solved.

Answer: Lipo revision is sometimes needed to smooth out areas nicely. Further liposuction would fix the problem as your doc said but should be done under local so your doc can stand you up and fine tune the results easily with the micro canulas. Your results are typical when your doc does lipo under general anesthesia and can't really fine tune it since you are flat and unable to be stood up.

Answer: Liposuction risks Dear Graceful, Unfortunately, sometimes there are untoward effects created by liposuction. It appears that your previously round shaped buttocks have been turned into square shaped buttocks by that fact. It might have been a more prudent decision for your plastic surgeon to turn you away for fat transfer to the breast rather than try to find fat on your extremely thin frame. Options for correction would be liposuction "light" above and below the dips, "fat shifting" from above and below the dips into the dips, fat transfer from another part of your body to the dips (not likely that you have other donor sites to give). Good luck!

Answer: Choosing the wrong provider Surgeons are responsible for surgical outcomes and patients are responsible for provider selection. Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons mastered liposuction, and or fat transfer is in reality very small. Most plastic surgeons are not good at Liposuction. Patience should be far more selective when it comes to provider selection for permanent irreversible body contouring procedures then they may think is necessary. Revision work is many times more difficult and complex than primary Liposuction. Another words, if your doctor couldn’t get the results correct the first time then they definitely don’t have the skill to be fixing the problem. Fixing it is way more difficult than doing the initial procedure. Most likely were not correctly in the operating room, and your surgeon simply did not have sufficient skill and experience. They were probably well trained in that plenty of overall experience and probably had other procedures that turned out well. This is quite common. To find the right provider I suggest patience. Start my first getting set of standard pictures of their body the same way plastic surgeons take before and after pictures. Bring pictures of your body, preferably in a printed format to every consultation to use as reference. Do not rely on your own memory or looking in mirrors for reference during consultations, especially when reviewing before and after pictures . Make a list of local plastic surgeons that seem to have a lot of experience doing liposuction and more that transfer. Next schedule in person consultations with each of these providers. Do not schedule surgery until you finished all of your consultations. There is no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. The more consultations, you schedule the more likely to find the better provider for your needs. The biggest mistake. Patient make is scheduling only one consultation and then scheduling surgery. You need to make the provider selection after you’ve had consultations not before. The convenience of thinking you can select the best provider by searching the Internet is falls. You can only do , proper vetting of providers after you’ve had in person consultations. Considering how much variation there is in Liposuction skills among plastic surgeons and health plastic surgeons are excellent at Liposuction I think having at least four or five consultations is probably a minimum. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients Who had similar body characteristics to your own. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images representing only the best results of a providers career may be insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. The provider should be showing you previous patient who had the treated and had very similar body characteristics to your own. Highly experienced providers should have access to hundreds or preferably thousands of before and after pictures. If they only show you a handful, then push them and ask them to show you more. You can ask them how often they do these procedures? How many of these procedures have they done? If a plastic surgeon claims to have done an operation 100 times then it’s reasonable to expect them to have it before and after pictures of at least 40 patients. Don’t let providers give you excuses are on a different computer, etc. etc. Recognize that you are hiring someone to perform service for you and vending that provider for the service you are paying for. Consultation is a two-way street and part of that is the patient recognizing that they are employing someone. You have a total right and a responsibility to vet your provider. In my opinion and experience provider should have no difficulty showing you the before, and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Take care notes during the consultation, especially regarding the quality and quantity of before and after pictures. Recognize that results can look very very impressive, but early results are not a representative of final results. at this point, you probably understand that. When reviewing outcomes for fat, the information has to be verified by knowing the timeframe of when after pictures were taken in relationship to the date of surgery. After pictures do not become representative until at least 3 to 6 months from surgery. Never assume somebody is showing you final mature outcomes . Always ask what the timeframe was when after pictures were taken, especially for fat transfer. If the results look too good to be true, then they probably are. Do not schedule surgery during the consultation. Make sure you finish all consultations before considering scheduling surgery. The outcome of these procedures should be viewed as permanent and irreversible. Correcting poorly done Liposuction is very difficult and sometimes not even possible. You were an exceptionally good candidate for both Liposuction and transfer. You only put more effort into provider selection, most likely by having multiple in person consultations before you selected a provider you would’ve be Boasting about your results right now. All those people considering having this type of work this is a very important lesson to do and what not to do. I do not recommend you go back to your initial provider for revision work. You did not include Results of your fat transfer but my best guess is that those were not the best either. This response was dictated using Word recognition. I apologize about the grammatical errors. I also apologize if my response seems a little pessimistic. It is my goal to prevent people from being from body, contouring procedures, especially liposuction, and fat transfer by helping them learn how to choose the right provider Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
