I had a breast augmentation surgery 8 years ago (350 cc) and I would like to remove it now. I want to know if my breasts will look saggy after the removal? Or is it a different story from one person to another? If I had to do the breast lift, will the doctor be able to avoid using the “lollipop technique” ? Meaning that, can the incesion be done only on the nipples to avoid scars? I would really like to remove the implant but would like to avoid scars as much as possible. Thank you in advan
Answer: I am planning to get my breast implant removed and was wondering if I have to also lift the breasts after the removal? Whether or not you need a breast lift (mastopexy) after removing breast implants depends on several factors, including: 1. Skin Elasticity: If your skin has good elasticity and can naturally retract after the removal of the implants, you may not need a lift. 2. Implant Size: Larger implants can stretch the skin and tissue over time, resulting in sagging after removal. In such cases, a lift may be necessary to achieve a more youthful and lifted appearance. 3. Natural Breast Tissue: The amount of natural breast tissue you have will also influence whether or not a lift is needed. If you have sufficient breast tissue and good skin elasticity, you may not need a lift. 4. Desired Aesthetic Outcome: Your goals and preferences will also play a role. If you desire a more lifted and youthful breast appearance, a lift may be recommended even if it's not strictly necessary from a medical standpoint. It's important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who has experience in breast revision surgery. They will assess your individual anatomy and discuss your goals to determine the best course of action for you. During the consultation, be sure to communicate your concerns and desired outcome clearly so that your plastic surgeon can provide recommendations.

Answer: I have to also lift the breasts after the removal? Hello @nouvh, thank you for your question. My opinion is that a breast implant removal should be combined with an immediate breast augmentation to reposition the breast tissue and improve the projection of the upper pole and medial areas using the BRALAN (Breast Reconstruction Anatomical Lift Augmentation) Technique as the results will be aesthetically appropriate and will have an L-shaped incision to remove the implants, which minimizes the amount of visible scarring in your cleavage. If you are considering a breast lift, consultation with a plastic surgeon experienced in this procedure is critical to ensure optimal results. Best regards. Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Breast implant removal After breast implant removal ther is always a degree of tissue laxity so it is likely that you may require a breast lift. Periareolar lift is always an option and it depend on the amount of breast droop. I would recommend a fat transfer at the same time to help maintain a nice shape. Best wishes

Answer: Surgery You did not post photos, so I cannot be specific. You can have minimally invasive radiofrequency skin tightening at the time of the removal to help tighten your skin if needed. The type of lift needed is based on the amount of sagging and the amount of excess skin. Not all women want a lift with removal of implants.

Answer: Explant with Bellesoma Method The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
