Hello, I have had bellafill to the tip and column of my nose. From what I've read, many surgeons won't perform on patients like myself. Why does bellafill in the nose make it much more difficult to operate on, especially if you are happy with the placement and wouldn't want to alter those areas in a rhinoplasty? For instance, I would only want to make my nose bridge thinner. Is this possible?

Answer: Bellafill and rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Bellafill and other fillers can safely be removed during your surgery. It is more challenging to remove than a normal HA filler but it can still safely be done. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: It depends somewhat on where the Bellafil is and what the goals of the operation are. More... If the Bellafil is in the tip, and the only work to be done is up on the bridge, it could be fine. But it always depends. For example, the surgeon might have to go *through* the tip area to get to the parts you want to change. Even then, though, it's not the end of the world -- the Bellafil could be removed and other work done in that area. Have to say, I think it's rare that filler makes an improvement in a nose that can't be done much, much better with surgery. It might be an opportunity for a surgeon to show you how the areas with the Bellafil could be even better without the Bellafil.
