Any procedure that gives you vertical advancement of your chin is going to deepen your labiomental fold. It doesn’t matter what procedure diet That simply what happens when the chin projects further. To avoid that don’t advance your chin vertically. You may benefit from horizontal advancement because it won’t affect the labiomental angle. Standard implants can be customized by carving them. Implants anoplasty surgery have advantages and disadvantages. Operation is not better than another period Both procedures have advantages and disadvantages. It seems to me that oral surgeons tend to rely more on a sliding genioplasty, while plastic surgeons tend to be more oriented to doing implants, but there iscrossover in this type of work from both specialties. In the end provider selection is probably the most important variable, so I suggest you start the process by finding the right surgeon to be working with then follow their recommendations. Consider interviewing with both plastic surgeons and oral surgeons in your area. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had the same facial characteristics to your own. It’s really important to understand which part of the mandible needs manipulation. If the chin is already projecting, and the problem probably isn’t in the chin. Most likely, the deficiency is further back in the body of the mandible. To get a quality assessment providers need to look at your dental occlusion and consider x-rays and other modalities. There is without question a subjective component to both assessments and treatment plans. Instead of trying to make your own assessment and coming up with your own treatment plan, I suggest letting those with expertise make those decisions while you focus instead on finding the right provider. The more consultations, you scheduled the more likely you are to find the better provider for your needs. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right surgeon. Start by having 2-3 consultations and see how things go. Sometimes it simply a matter of luck in regards to finding the right provider, and sometimes it requires having a substantial number of consultations. Best, Matt Hagstrom, MD
