Hey, I have a severely crooked nose and it bothers me aesthetically and I breathe poorly through the nostril on my left side. I have other asymmetries in my face but that doesn't bother me. My main concern is the crooked nose. Is it possible to straighten and re-center it? Or is it pointless to go for a consultation

Based on your photograph, you appear to have a convexity along your right nasal bone and a con cavity along your right upper lateral cartilage which is giving your nose an S shaped appearance. Additionally, your nostrils are a bit wide. Another consideration may be a permanent nonsurgical nose job to add volume to your right nasal side wall where there is an indentation. This may lead to a permanently straighter nasal appearance as well. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

It is certainly possible to improve both the function (breathing) and aesthetics of your nose through rhinoplasty. Adjusting the position of the nasal septum and ensuring patent internal valves as well as other maneuvers to improve airflow are within the armamentarium of a skilled rhinoplasty surgeon.

As far as I can see from your photo it is possible to make a more accurate evaluation if you can send your photos from the side profile at 95-degree angles, but it is possible to get the aesthetic appearance you want and solve your breathing problem with a single operation.

Yes, you'd be a great candidate for a septoplasty-rhinoplasty.  This should straighten your nose and fix your breathing issue at the same time.

Your nose can be straightened and unblocked with a Septo-Rhinoplasty.
I would probably do it via an Open Rhinoplasty technique.I would start off by straightening the septum with a Cottle-type Septoplasty, suturing the septum so it is stabilized in the midline (and not needing packs or silastic splints).Once you have a straight and stable nasal septum, the outside of the nose can be straightened with lateral and probably medial osteotomies.You seem to have some middle-third narrowing with loss of support, so spreader grafts (using strips of your own septal cartilage) might be required.
It is not always possible to get the nose absolutely straight and symmetric.

Hello, It is possible and reasonable to have this straightened. A crooked nose with deviation is a difficult but not uncommon thing to correct in rhinoplasty. Make sure to consult with at least a couple of surgeons and choose those that truly specialize on rhinoplasty. Don't fall for gimmicks. Find surgeons that perform rhinoplasty frequently but are not an assembly line type of practice that produces the same nose over and over again. Hope that helps!

People frequently have surgery to improve a crooked nose (rhinoplasty). Rhinoplasty can make a significant improvement; however, it is not usually perfectly straight. This is due to the "memory" of the cartilage. This means the cartilage in the nose tends to partially return to the original shape to a mild degree.

Ideally, azo fractures should be reduced as soon as possible after the injury.
If the fracture is not reduced, then the nose heels with malalignment.
It is possible to refracture the nose and reset it with better anatomic alignment.
I suggest having multiple in person, consultations with plastic surgeons in your community who seem to have a lot of experience with rhinoplasty surgery.
