Question

If juvederm caused lymphedema, will the swelling resolve on its own as the filler dissolves? I had juvederm injected 3 months ago at the top of my cheek bone under the far corner of my eye. I had a massive hemotoma and swelling thAt took nearly 2 months to fade. I still have swelling and discoloration in the tear trough area and feel like the filler has created a bag under my eye. I do not want to get the wydase, but would rather wait it out.

Juvederm as a filler may draw in a little more fluid to the area as well.  As the filler dissipates the swelling should resolve.  Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Juvederm is a short term filler and isn't permanent, so yes, it will go away. Under the eyes (which is not where I recommend Juvederm be used!) does take longer to go away (about a year or more) because this area doesn't move as much as the mouth or NLF lines. So, any residual swelling and edema should resolve as the filler goes away. If you don't want hyaluronidase/vitrase/wydase then yes, wait it out, and in 18 months or so things will settle down. If you don't want to wait, then get hyaluronidase from an experienced physician and return to normal much quicker!
