Red spots after microdermabrasion? (Photos)

Question

I got microdermabrasion yesterday and I have sensitive skin. I didn’t have any pain during the procedure but in between felt little uncomfortable and my aesthetician decreased the intensity. After coming back home I noticed I have got tiny red spots below my cheeks, temples and neck. Is this normal or some side effect of the treatment and I have damged my skin permanently. Although all the redness was gone in few hours and I was feeling perfectly ok but these marks are just the same even today

Microdermbrasion(MDA) is a superficial skin resurfacing procedure with mechanical expfoliation of outer layer of the skin by using either diamond tips or crystals. Although it is considered as a safe procedure, one can easily go beyond epidermal layer if they use the wrong tip, more passes, more suction, or applying too much pressure. The side effects can be seen easily in some one with rosacea, use of recent Retinol/chemical peel, skin atrophy, and impaired healing.   It is crucial that you follow post procedure guidelines. Continue to use Broad-spectrum sunscreen with Zinc and Titanium, and medical grade skin care products, to prevent post inflammatory hyper pigmentation.

HiThe spots should subside within a few days. Looks like potentially the suction was too high and has brought the blood to the surface. Try not to worry. Use a good foundation or concealer in the meantime if the appearance bothers you.Next time try a Hydrafacial, this treatment is far superior to traditional Microdermabrasion. Hope this helps

Even though microdermabrasion is a very superficial treament there can be some areas of bleeding under the skin and this is probably what this is and should go away in a few days leaving no residua. Probably not a good idea to have it done again
