Is pain and swelling normal after 2 months of Liposuction surgery?

If you weren't able to take the required amount of time off and had to get back to work earlier than advised, then this isn't unusual. Your recovery has been compromised and swelling will last longer than usual. You should be wearing your compression garment for the time your surgeon told you, and it will help to wear it at work as well. Drinking will contribute to swelling.

A modest one would be expected but pain should be effectively gone. I wonder if the liposuction was assisted by laser or ultrasound which can sometimes create protracted pain issues.

It is normal to see swelling in the area of liposuction for up to 6 months after surgery. I always recommend to my patients to wear the compression garment. Ultimately, not wearing the garment shouldn't effect the overall aesthetic outcome of your surgery too drastically.  However, my advice is to always listen to your surgeons specific instructions post op.

While specifically not a problem, be sure that your drinks are low sodium (sorry, no Margarita's with salt on the rim).  Any carbonation is also a potential problem with swelling after surgery.Compression is arguably helpful after liposuction, and if you are seeing improvement when you wear something, then you clearly need to be doing so.Lastly, any calf swelling should be evaluated immediately since that could indicate a potentially serious problem of a blood clot.Best of luck.
