Hi I’m curious as to the downside of the halo treatment my doctor wants to use it in combination with the BBL at the same time can this be done on the face neck and chest? And what is the downside besides a couple days with bronzing skin? Thank you in advance I’m trying to make the best decision to lightly resurface my skin
Answer: Down time with HALO and BBL This combination is great for face, neck and chest. We do this combination routinely. The down time for HALO can be a few variations. Most clients do not swell but this is definitely something that might happen. Clients are red upon leaving the office and over the next few days the pigmentation can darken and come to the surface. The skin can appear like sand paper texture. Usually 1-2 weeks we do follow ups and clients are healed. Your provider should have photos that show the progression for examples. Best of Luck.

Answer: Halo and BBL combo is better than either alone I regularly combine Halo and BBL to get improved results in aged or sun damaged skin. I find that by combining the two modalities I can get a better result than using either by themselves. I usually do Halo on the face but not on the neck or chest. You will likely have a few more days of swelling and redness by adding the halo and a little more discomfort with the procedure but the improved results usually make it worth adding on the Halo to the BBL. You will see some improvement with the BBL in the first 2 weeks but you will keep improving for up to 3 months after the halo treatment. The halo causes upregulation of collagen production and this takes a few months to show up in your skin. The key thing with laser treatments is to have realistic expectations that they will give a 10-20 % improvement in properly selected patients, but they do not have the same results as a face lift or surgical procedure. However, the quick recovery and minimal downtime make it a great modality for improving your sun damaged skin. Best of luck on your Journey.

Answer: I’m curious as to the downside of the Halo treatment combined with BBL? This combination laser treatment is great for face, neck and chest. In my practice we do this combination routinely. Adding the BBL treatment with your Halo will not add any additional recovery time to the areas treated. I cannot see a downside to doing both at the same time, only beneficiary. Hope this helps.

Answer: Halo downside Truth is not much downside to Halo if performed by an experienced office. In melasma patients who are treated too aggressively or if too much early sun exposure you can get increased pigment. Otherwise Halo is a fantastic laser and any of my staff (and me too) will jump on the table for a Halo treatment at any time

Answer: BBL and HALO together Hi, There is not a downside really except maybe a little more flaking of existing pigmentation. The combination is great for added pigmentation reduction, especially if the HALO is done at setting that are more designed to address non-pigmentation issues such as deep wrinkles or scarring. The recovery time is the same even with the BBL addition. You can see the results on our webpage at Potomac Medical Aesthetics or on RealSelf.
