Can my "snub" nose be fixed to look skinner and less turned up? (Photo)

Because of my height and snub nose I've always been teased by kids in school that I have an Asian nose or look like MJ. I've been considering rhinoplasty for a while but I'm scared my nose won't fit my face. I really want the typical straight model nose, so can rhinoplasty fix my turned up nose?

Hello.So the answer to your question is yes, your nose can be improved.This is an augmentation rhinoplasty, which is tougher than a reductive rhinoplasty.Your nose will need to be lengthened and additionally supported with cartilage grafts from your septum, and possibly your ears and/or ribs.Make sure you find a good rhinoplasty surgeon to do this for you.Dr. G

It is common to undergo a rhinoplasty to bring the tip down or improve a snub nose.  This can be accomplished by a few different rhinoplasty techniques but all involve cartilage grafting in the tip.  This would enlongate and help your nose balance with the other facial features.  You are a beautiful young woman.I hope this helps.

A rhinoplasty can give you a more attractive knows. You will need a septal extension graft and possible alar grafts as well. The bridge can also be augmented if this is something you want. Make sure you choose a very experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeon who is used to using these techniques. Look at the surgeons results in revision rhinoplasty with short noses showing before and after pictures that demonstrate his ability to do noses like yours.

Yes, you can refine and reduce the size of your nose to fit your face.  In addition, I would like you to look at your chin.  Having a small chin will bring the focus more to your nose.  If you place your finger from your lips straight down, your chin should almost touch your finger.  Yours is behind.  Having something as simple as a filler or chin implant will project the chin forward to better balance the lower half of your face.  See a surgeon with focus and experience in facial aesthetics.

To achieve a more refined nose I recommend that you lengthen the nose and augment the profile with cartilage grafts and narrow the entire nose including the tip so you improve definition. This can be done if you select n experienced rhinoplasty specialist.
