I am a 20 year old white female. My nose is very very round/boulbous. The bridge is fairly straight, but the tip throws it off. I think my skin is pretty thick, (i know that can be an issue with rhinoplasty) but how do I know if it is thick? Would I just need a tip rhinoplasty or a full one? What should I expect? I am also haveing a hard time finding a before and after of a white female with a nose as boulbous as mine, so if you could send me one that would help.
Answer: Rhinoplasty for bulbous nasal tip The rhinoplasty procedure can address narrowing the bulbous tip. This accomplished with suture techniques applied to the lower lateral cartilages of the nasal tip ,along with conservative cartilage removal as well. Thick skin will be a significant impediment to seeing a very refined result of the tip of the nose

Answer: Tip rhinoplasty Thank you for the question and photos. I agree that refining the shape and appearance of the tip of your nose would be where most of your rhinoplasty procedure would be focused on. Although your skin may be thick, I am fairly certain that the cartilages (lower lateral cartilages) are still the main cause of the bulbous tip for you. The before and after photo link below may be an indication of what your nose may look like. I think some refinement of the rest of the rhinoplasty would also be beneficial since changing the tip would automatically change the appearance of the other parts in relation to the tip.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
