I am going to be going into the Fish and Wilflife acadmey in august and am getting my surgery done in 2 weeks. Will i be okay in the academy we will be doing defense tactics which is what im mostly worried about because i workout alot now so im not worried about my body getting back into working out just the strenuous activity and afraid of a rupture during defense classes and so on..
Answer: Physical activity and restrictions These are great questions and absolutely a valid concern. I typically tell my patients that between 5 and 6 weeks post-op they are free to start easing back into their normal vigorous routine whether it be exercise, work, and so forth. Implants are man made so there is no guarantee they will last forever although with the advancements in technology the force of impact that it would take to rupture a silicone implant would kill you before the implant would rupture. Saline implants are a different viscosity due to being filled with a saline fluid which directly impacts their leak rate. I would absolutely recommend silicone implants and down time of 5-6 weeks with easing back into normal daily activity around 1.5-2 weeks. You should be up and moving that night following surgery and upon your release to regular vigorous activity have no restrictions no matter the level of strenuous activity you may be experiencing. I wish you luck in your future journey!

Answer: Recovery Speak with your surgeon as everyone has his or her own post op protocol, but I advise my patients to wait at least 4 weeks before returning to vigorous activity. So, seems as if you should have plenty of time to recover. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Answer: I am joining the Police Academy and am getting a breast lift & implants. Any suggestions? Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. The breasts may lose their elasticity and firmness which can be caused by different factors such as pregnancy, massive weight loss, lactation and aging. To reaffirm the breasts and restore the natural look your surgeon can perform a mastopexy or breast lift.A breast lift restores a firmer, perkier, and more aesthetically pleasing shape to sagging breasts. This not only can improve a patient’s appearance by restoring her youthful, feminine proportions, but also help bras and swimsuits fit more comfortably and attractively. By removing excess, stretched out skin, reshaping the breast tissue, and raising the nipple & areola into a more forward position, a cosmetic surgeon can create a more youthful breast contour. Stretched, large areolae can also be reduced during breast lift surgery, creating an overall better proportioned, natural looking breast, your surgeon will determine on a personal consultation how your scar’s going to be and where depending on your breast tissue amount, I suggest you to check testers with your surgeon about sizes and type of implant, I recommend you to not lift, pull or push for at least 30 days from surgery, Hugs!
