What options for one cheek being bigger than the other? (photos)

Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hi Emb, A very reasonable option would be to use Voluma to help improve the asymmetry between the cheeks. It is FDA approved for this area and can last up to 2 years. It is also potentially reversible if you don't like it. Best, Dr. Groff

Since you have established that the left cheek is the good one and the right one is too big, then right cheek reduction can be done,. The question is whether this is a bone issue  or one of just soft tissue. That answer is important since it would help determine what procedure to do and how effective it might be. I would recommend getting a 3D CT scan to see if the bone is the source of your asymmetry, then an intraoral bony reduction can be done.

When patients have an asymmetrical cheek and one cheek is flatter than the other, a one sided, unilateral cheek implant can be placed on the flat slide to accomplish symmetry in the face and match the opposite cheek. Might consider a facial scan to see if there are any issues in the face area. I could use Juvederm's Voluma to fill deficient side. But ONLY IN PERSON examinations are the way you should proceed.
