My Latera Nasal implant didn’t dissolve (photo)

Question

I’m had a Latera Nasal implant two years ago this month and it’s unsightly and it hurts and I have been having headaches. Could it be the surgeons fault or the implant. Sometimes I feel like it moves and my nose makes wheezing sounds a lot and I get stuffy

Have you surgeon reach out to the company. I've had this happen to one of my patients, and my rep told me that it's been reported to be a potential issue and has given me suggestions about what to do to try to encourage it to dissolve further vs. excising it completely. Your surgeon should be able to help you with that.

Based on your photos, I agree that is the location where these implants are placed to support somebody's nasal valves. I do not believe that there is any way to accelerate the bodies metabolism of this product, and it is conceivable that you may have formed scar tissue around the implant. Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a surgical procedure to remove the latera implant.   With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
