3 Weeks Post BBL, Unhappy With Results. Should I Wait?

While I can't comment too much without seeing photos, the fact of the matter is you are unhappy, whether for good reason or not. Your surgeon should never be "too busy" to speak with you about your concerns. You say "board certified" but you didn't say what they are certified in. Unfortunately there are some bad surgeons who complicate bad results with bad bedside manner and ignoring patients after surgery.  I agree that your surgeon is obligated to speak with you as his legal and ethical obligation extends well beyond the actual surgery. You shoudl make an appointment to see him and discuss your concerns. You must insist on not having your visit scheduled with his assistant.

You're still in the early stage of healing and should give it some time to see the final results. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens.  It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.  

Great question. It is going to be hard to give you a thorough answer without pictures. Although, you are not going to see the best results after 3 weeks. It can take a few months to start seeing the overall contour of the body. Swelling and bruising is expected. Give it more time for swelling to go down before being too concerned. In general, it may take up to six months for the swelling to subside and the true result seen. If needed, a revision can be performed after 6 months. Your surgeon needs to make time to address any patient concerns. Gentle Massage does helps.  Discuss your concerns with your surgeon and follow his recomendations.  I hope this helps. Best wishes

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation, discomfort and irregularities are normal.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

You are still in early stages of healing and there is still some swelling. It takes at least a few months to achieve final results. You should follow your post op instructions and express your concerns to your surgeon. I recommend my patients to start massaging after surgery as soon as they are able to tolerate it (a week or two after surgery).

I am so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time.  Early in the postoperative period is the absolute most important time to dedicate a little TLC to our patients - as they need to know what to expect during the healing process.  I would suggest that you call your surgeon's clinic and discuss your concern about not having access to his time with his office manager.  I'm sure he would make more time for you if he knew how unhappy you were.With regards to your result, it is very difficult to tell without preoperative and postoperative photos, but I will reassure you that three weeks is WAY too early to comment on a final result.  There will still be some swelling and bruising at this time.  The fat is only starting to develop it's new blood supply.  It often takes 3-6 months until your result is more finalized.  You may require a revision, or hopefully you may not, but either way you need to meet with your surgeon to find out where you are in the healing process.  Good luck!

it is too early to see the finally outcome. you must wait swelling areas go down. sometimes over realistic expectations can make you feel like this. i hope it is not your case. keep in touch with your surgeon.

If you had a volume of fat  in each side then the math just does not add up. You should see a result at this point. Other than fat you could consider an implant but this will generally only fill the central portion of the buttocks and not the roundness along the trochanteric region.

Things do not sound right! Best to obtain second opinions from boarded PLASTIC SURGEON in MIAMI. Yes posting photos does help.
