Dear BabeNabila,Thank you for your question. It is common for patients to have some mild itching or "ants" feeling as sensation returns. The intense itching you describe is not typical in my practice. You should make sure you are not having any type of allergic reaction or other legitimate medical cause.Best regards,Nirmal R. Itching is fairly common after surgery. This may be organic in nature. If there is any sign of rash or allergic reaction, that would be something different. If your plastic surgeon does not think it is lipo related, consult with your PCP to see if benadryl would help.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, itching is normal due to the nerves healing. If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Good luck :)
Hello and thank you for your question. At 6 weeks your body is still healing and this is when the nerves are usually going back to their natural state causing itching. If you are concerned about the excessive itching please contact your plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Usually it is from nerves coming back, but n to intense itching. Sometimes meds or garment can cause. I recommend you to see your PS for evaluation.
liposuction often causes mild nerve injury called Neurapraxia. The nerves will heal and sensation comes back to normal in 2 to 3 months. What you describe is common. Best, Mats Hagstrom,MD
