In most cases if a mentor implant is infected, the highest chance of resolution is removal of the implant. It may be possible through the use of irrigation and antibiotics to salvage it but it is extremely unlikely. Remember peroxide can be toxic to healthy tissue also. An infection of your implant could lead to spread of the infection which can be dangerous in this area. This can be a very serious situation with serious consequences.

Sorry to read that you have been experiencing ongoing problems with your recent cheek implant surgery.  Purulent infections can lead to severe infections of the bone close to your implant so its definitely best at this stage to remove your cheek implant and allow your infection to clear before considering your options further.  Unfortunately one of the many downsides to having surgery abroad is that you are usually unable to schedule ongoing post operative reviews with your operating surgeon.  Post operative care and follow up is a vital part of the surgical experience and while some complications can't be avoided they can often be minimised.  Listen to your surgeon at home as he appears to be giving your the correct advice!
