I had a co2 fractionsl laser 20 days ago and the dots, mostly around my mouth, turned into red darker dots. So, is this normal? And what should i do about it?
Answer: Discoloration after CO2 It is very normal to have some discoloration (either redness or dark pigment) for 4-8 weeks after a CO2 laser. It is very important that you keep the skin protected from the sun. I recommend a physical block sunscreen and suggest reapplying at least every 4 hours and even more frequently when outside. You should also be sure that you are only using products on your skin that your provider says are OK to use at this point.

Answer: Will these DOT's go away after Fractional Laser? It is normal to have some redness and residual swelling post fractional laser. We tell most patients that they may have some degree of redness (depending on which fractional laser - co2 or Erbium) for up to a month. The small red dots you are seeing should resolve on their own. However, be sure you are using sun protection and you are not rubbing or exfoliating the area. You should not be using any facial scrubs or skin care products that are harsh or irritating to the skin.

Answer: Dots on skin after laser treatment Depending on your skin and the settings used, the microscopic treatment zones (the dots you see on your skin) can still be apparent as areas of pink or red discoloration for weeks to several months after treatment. Protect your skin from the sun and follow your doctor's post op protocols carefully. Close follow up with your doctor is very important to make sure your skin heals properly.

Answer: Dots from fractional laser Thanks for your question. If its only been 20 days it may be too soon to tell if these will resolve or remain. Give it more time and be sure to keep the treated area out of the sun as this can delay healing. If you have any concerns about your treatment be sure to reach out to your treating physician. I'm sure they would want to see you to answer your questions and help you manage things afterwards. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Early days, dots fade in time with fractional laser In most cases, the dots will be barely visible at the 6-8 week mark. Day 20 is still very early days. In the days of fully ablative laser resurfacing, skin is still red and healing at the 6 month mark, so 3 weeks with dots....it will fade in time. Remember to sun protect, and let your specialist guide you for follow ups and treatment levels. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
