Non-ablative fractional 1540 Erbium laser for dark skin?

Question

Is there any doctor in the San Diego area that does non-ablative fractional 1540 Erbium laser for dark skinned person? If so, please advise. Primarily, I want to get rid of wrinkles around my eyes (below and eyelids) and neck. Thank you.

Erbium is a great choice for darker skin types, but a combination approach would give the most improvement in these areas. Wrinkles to the outer eyes and neck can be improved with a combination of Botox and/or fillers for the lines themselves and to build anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Ultherapy is a great skin tightening device, but works best in combination with other treatments like RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP or sculptra to get increased collagen, tightening and improve skin tone. Don't let distance dissuade you. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Fractional lasers are ablative. If what you are trying to do is maintain your normal skin color after having wrinkles removed by resurfacing, be aware that there are no guarantees. One way to TRY to achieve UNIFORM color is to have full face resurfacing so that all of your facial skin has a chance to heal with the same uniform color. Once again, there are no guarantees.
