I am scheduled for a breast FT in October (one year post explant and breast lift). I am an AA cup and not looking for miracles i would be more than happy to fill an A cup bra and rectify a noticeable adhesion. i am 5"6 and 57kg. I would like to know if using a Brava dvice before and or after a breast FT is advised? In my case having little Breast tissue I would imagine so? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thank you
Answer: Breasts If you are a AA, implants will be the best choice. The BRAVA device is used only prior to the fat transfer to try and achieve expanded skin. If does not always work well.

Answer: Can I use a Brava device before and or after a breast fat transfer? Hello @karenlynn2021, thank you for your question. There is always a need to take into account the opinion of the specialist who will perform the surgery. There may be a need to wait for some time so that the healing process does not get hindered after surgery. Preoperative use of the device is also important to discuss with the doctor, given that it creates some type of inflammation. The most appropriate course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeons. This will allow you to get more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez, MD FACS.

Answer: Fat transfer Surgeons have tried this and it doesn’t work. Not even sure they still make the brava thing. If it worked surgeons would still be using it but a study came out several years ago showing it was of no value

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear karenlynn2021, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery. Answer: Brava device for fat transfer I have not found the brava device to have any significant impact on fat transfer results and generally patients find it uncomfortable and a nuisance to use. Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people believe it. The importance of choosing the most talented experience surgeon cannot be overstated. Defined the best provider I recommend having multiple in person consultations. During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. For this procedure it is imperative to know when after pictures were taken in relationship to the operation. For a fat transfer early postoperative pictures can look very impressive but do not at all represent final results. Anyone showing pictures earlier than three months should be immediately discounted as showing results that are not realistic. Providers will typically show you sample pictures representing the best results of their career. This is in sufficient to get a clear understanding of what the average results look like. For that reason patients should ask the provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. asked the provider to show as many pictures as possible of patients with similar body characteristics to your own. You should ask the provider to show examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes unless than outcomes. When fat transfer procedures go wrong it is often due to poor technique leaving people disfigured from Liposuction. The liposuction aspect is equally as important as the fat transfer and you should look critically at all liposuction results looking for any evidence of contour irregularities. Ask the provider what areas were treated with Liposuction in comparison to those areas not treated and look carefully at transition zones between treated and untreated areas. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of this fairly common procedure. Highly experienced surges will have hundreds or even thousands of before and after pictures to choose from. Finally I recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. Continue having consultations until you feel certain you found the most talented and experience provider in your community. Liposuction and to some degree fat transfer results are permanent and irreversible. If done poorly these procedures can leave patients disfigured. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
