I have had asymmetrical breasts since they developed. I had no idea that it was somewhat common until using this app! After breastfeeding, they got much worse. I have no issues with scars & I know they will never be "perfect". I am wondering if fat transfer & a lift would be a realistic option for me? As much as I crave the normalcy, I would like to avoid implants. I am open to multiple sessions. I am willing to travel for an experienced doctor. Whatever it takes if it's possible
Answer: Is fat transfer a realistic option for my asymmetry? Hello @PennyLane27, thank you for your question. In this case, surgery is the best option. The surgical plan would involve tissue reconstruction and a breast lift where the incision can be made in the shape of an inverted J in order to improve the asymmetry and level out the volume between both breasts, as well as a fat graft to increase the volume in the upper portion of the breast. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Bellesoma Method The technique I recommend is a lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast lift You'll need to first address your breast sagging first, which will require a breast lift. Although some surgeons perform a lift and fat transfer simultaneously, you would benefit from a staged procedure to lift your breasts first and then have liposuction and fat grafting three months later.

Answer: Breast lift I don’t think fat transfer will give you the symmetry you desire. I think that a breast lift would be able to give you better symmetry and “normalcy.” Talk to your surgeon about the options but you certainly do not need to use implants. Best of luck!

Answer: Tuberous breasts Dear PennyLane27, tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall. The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition. My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries. That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
